SPIKE
Sibenah AK Spike
ANKC Registered Siberian Husky | Bred by Sibenah Siberians
Male | 18.10.1999 - 10.11.2014
Having celebrated his 15th birthday in October and looking great, Spike deteriorated before our eyes and the diagnosis was not good. We couldn't see an old man suffer so we made the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye and hoped that he knew how much he was loved and cherished as part of our family.
Spike came to live at Idigadog in 2004 at a time when we were seriously considering giving up racing. Little did we know that this gorgeous guy and his cousin Rex would be the match that would re-ignite the flame in both of us.
Spike was a smart and honest worker and had the sweetest nature that made him a pleasure to be around. On the Australian racing circuit and amongst our friends and family Spike was well known for his cuddles and everyone knew him as "Mr Personality".
Spike spent a couple of years racing in New Zealand before joining us here and he even had points towards his N.Z. sleddog title.
Totally bomb-proof on the trail, Spike became a fantastic puppy trainer and a great dog for junior mushers to race as he took commands with ease and was so even-tempered. Just a really, really nice guy to be around and live with.
Spike may have been the smallest dog in our kennel but what he lacked in size, he more than made up for in personality and love of his humans and life in general.
Reunited with his cousin and best mate Rex at the rainbow bridge. So long Spike - we are forever indebted to you.
